Leaving behind friends and family is one of the hardest parts of this dream. While neither of us has family close by, knowing that we will be further away and potentially not see them for a year is a difficult, and we spent as much time with our families as we could before we went away.  Leaving behind the family of friends that we have been fortunate enough to create in and around Cambridge brought tears (for me at least!), as well as a few late nights! This photo is of us on our bikes in the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside, with our friends Tina and Tommy, who have been like family to us for many years now. Tina was right in saying that day that England was calling us back; a perfect summer’s day, with friends – hard to beat. We will keep in touch with people whenever we can, and we hope that through this blog we can share the new experiences we will be having this year.
